LD2 Series: Laser Cutting Machines for PCD |
|
The
LD2 is designed primarily for cutting large carbide
backed PCD mother discs into the smaller pieces
needed for tools. It can also be used to
trim mother discs to the required diameter
ex. press.
The machine can cut PCD at a much higher speed
than by a wire EDM machine. Typical cutting speeds
are 80-100mm/min. The machine is simple
to operate and accepts dxf files from any
CAD system. |

| THE
STRENGTHS - LD2 |
- Cuts 1.6mm thick, carbide backed PCD
at 80-100 mm per minute
- Cuts simple and complex shapes, straight
or curved paths.
- Kerf width is less than 150 µm giving
increase in yield of 10 - 15% over wire
cutting.
- Cuts PCD up to 4.5mm thick (at reduced
cutting speeds).
- Cuts holes and internal shapes.
- Cut cemented carbide up to 5.0mm thick
- Cut pieces remain interlocked in place
until broken out.
- High speed cutting eliminates the
need for holding cut pieces in stock.
- Easy to operate - minimal training
required.
- User friendly touch-screen control.
- The laser head can be mechanically tilted and clearance angles pre-cut on blanks.
- Synthetic granite base for x,y,z table and for laser optics.
- Pressurized slides to present ingress of dust
- Pressurized optics to present ungress of dust
- CCTV for laser alignment and viewing of cut process
- Coborn control system. Coborn system uses dxf drawing file directly for cut pattern
